A few years ago I was reading Isaiah 6 and was struck when Isaiah was so quick to say yes to God. He asked no questions and didn’t require any detail, he immediately said, “Send me.”
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Fast forward to my first trip to Lebanon as we contemplated not going to a particular part of the country because of our host warning against travel without a translator or trusted driver. I remember my first thought being, “Well, there it is, we can’t go.” So much for “send me”. As our team prayed I realized that God had specifically called me to go to Lebanon, now that I was finally there, I was backing out. Our team went back to the host with our decision that we would stick with our plan and go to the region. As soon as we relayed this, he said he would go with us and had a driver to take us.
In that very moment, I realized (again) that God would provide all I need to do the work He called me to. Why do I doubt him? What have I missed out on because I required Him to show me more? What has He asked of you that you continue to stall on? Do you trust Him to equip you with all you need to do what He’s asked? Has He called you to another place? To leave a job or to homeschool your kids? Whatever it is, trust He will supply your every need.
